✔ Ingredient :
- 2 c. chopped pecans
- 1-1/4 c. butter, softened and divided
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. milk
- 2 t. vanilla extract
✔ Preparation :
➙ Combine pecans and 1/4 cup butter; spread on a baking sheet.
➙ Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, stirring often; cool.
➙ Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
➙ In a separate bowl, blend remaining butter and sugar; stir in eggs.
➙ Add flour mixture to butter mixture alternately with milk, beating well.
➙ Stir in vanilla and 1-1/3 cups pecans.
➙ Pour into 3 greased and floured 8" round cake pans.
➙ Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, until cake tests done. Cool before.
✔ Frosting:
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
- 16-oz. pkg. powdered sugar
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- 4 to 6 T. evaporated milk
- 2/3 c. reserved toasted pecans
✩ Beat all ingredients except pecans until smooth. Stir in pecans.
